C-CAST

C-CAST is a comprehensive counter-abduction and abduction-survival course designed to provide at risk individuals or those traveling to "high risk" environments with the skills and technology necessary to increase their chances of preventing and surviving a kidnapping.

Treating Risk Sensibly

While the likelihood of the average person being held as a hostage or becoming the victim of a kidnapping is very small, there exists within our society a select few who, for a variety of reasons, find themselves immersed in a culture which gives them little or no control over the risks that surround them. These people exist in a different reality than most and for them the question is not, "Will I be a victim of a violent crime?" but "When will I be a victim?"

C-CAST Is Born.

In 1995, Forrest Research, Inc. invested more than 1,500 hours into developing a program designed to teach select clients how to maximize their chances of surviving a kidnapping or hostage situation. We pursued this goal with two objectives in mind. First, the program had to be based on proven techniques. Second, the program had to take into consideration, and utilize, the background, capabilities and limitations of each student. Nine years later our ongoing research has resulted in the development of a unique program called Civilian-Counter Abduction and Survival Training or C-C.A.S.T.

C-CAST Is Based On A Legendary Military Program.

Over the last several decades the military has been providing its "high risk" operators (i.e. search and rescue teams, pilots and members of the special forces) with training designed to increase a soldier's chances of survival if captured or trapped behind enemy lines. This program is known throughout the military as S.E.R.E or Survive Escape Resist Evade training. Over the years S.E.R.E. has become an invaluable resource for military personnel.

SERE Isn't For Everyone.

There are critical differences between military and civilian threats, survival strategies and techniques. The most readily identifiable of these is the level of preparedness that SERE students must have to even be considered for the course. Many of the students attending SERE training are Fighter Pilots, Navy SEALs, Delta Force team members and other special force operators. These are the military's elite personnel. All of whom have undergone thousands of hours of training prior to attending SERE. This training not only provides them with the basic physical and psychological skills necessary to maximize the benefits of the SERE program, but it also serves to desensitize them to much of the effects of the body's natural, and often debilitating, reaction to high levels of stress.

C-CAST Is The Intelligent Training Choice For The "At Risk" Civilian.

Any program designed to assist an individual in surviving an actual or attempted kidnapping or hostage situation must take into consideration the unique circumstances surrounding that individual. Since civilians lack the standardized training provided by the military, anyone serious about creating a counter abduction curriculum for nonmilitary personnel must develop a program that addresses individual strengths and personal limitations.

C-CAST Is NOT A Self Defense Course.

C-CAST is not a self defense course. Physical resistance is just one form of resistance and as such is extremely limited in its effectiveness. C-CAST is a sophisticated and advanced program designed to teach each student to consistently and rapidly develop highly fluid and effective survival strategies. These skills are based on proven methods and built around the rules of: prevention, detection, resistance and reaction. Using these rules students learn to develop special physical and psychological techniques to aid them in surviving a violent encounter.

Experience Like No Other.

While other courses may draw on personnel with military backgrounds, Forrest Research utilizes instructors with a wide variety of experience. From former Navy SEALs, SERE Psychologists, intelligence and counter terrorism operatives to Crisis Resolution experts, hostage negotiators, former professional kidnappers, experts in deception and misdirection and escape artists. Our instructors draw on decades of experience and current trends to provide students with the highest quality training available.

Exclusive Technology

Only C-CAST provides students with the option of receiving certification in the use of exclusive search and rescue technology. By offering this course and technology our students are equipped with yet another tool to use in the construction of their survival strategy. The result is a civilian with a skill level comparable to, and in some areas exceeding, that of the military's most experienced SERE graduates.
